Happy Summer everyone!
The summer break has officially begun! It's time to relax and reflect on the past school year. I have been easing into a relaxing state of mind after receiving my courses for next year and getting in contact with my Associate Teacher for my next Practicum. I have made a Summer Bucket List of sorts, and I wanted to share on the blog what some of my list includes. Enjoy this blog post and comment below with your own Summer Bucket List Ideas :) 1) Do lots of reading! I have a stack of books on my desk that have been accumulating since Christmas. It's a mix of Professional Learning and leisure reads. A good balance for the summer ;) 2) Get acquainted with the Junior Curriculum for my new students. I have already sticky noted the curriculum documents. Should be a very interesting read! 3) Go through all my first year teaching notes and papers. Get organized! 4) Start to look up interesting lesson plan ideas and activities for new class. 5) Hopefully meet up with my Associate Teacher towards the end of the summer to discuss ideas. 6) Get together with friends I haven't seen since school started. Summer is a great time to catch up with friends over Starbucks :) 7) Go Back-to-School supply shopping! It's my absolute favourite thing to do in the summer. I have a bad obsession with school supplies, especially highlighters, post-it notes, notebooks, and markers. 8) Spend some time with my family by the beach. I love reading on the beach! 9) Research ways to integrate technology in teaching. I really want to improve my technology literacy for my next practicum. 10) Start searching for textbooks for my courses for Fall. 11) ENJOY! RELAX! I hope you all enjoyed this different blog post. I would love to hear what you are planning to do during the summer. Please comment below or Tweet me>>> @cstar012. Be sure to follow too! Have a great summer everyone!! Miss. Starkey :)
